What are Stem Cells?
Stem cells are unique cells with the potential to develop into many different types of cells in the body. According to the presentation, cord blood contains hematopoietic stem cells, which are used in treating more than 80 medical conditions, including immune deficiencies and certain cancers such as leukemia and lymphoma.
Cord tissue contains mesenchymal stem cells, which are being researched for possible use in conditions like stroke, heart disease, and autism. The deck also notes that ongoing advances in regenerative medicine may create additional future uses for cord tissue.
Why Donate Cord Blood?
Donating cord blood can provide a critical resource for patients in need and support groundbreaking research. Your donation is a Chance to Save a Life. Donating your cord blood is free.
Why Cord Blood Matters
Cord blood offers several advantages over bone marrow, including higher match success, a lower risk of graft-versus-host disease, and the ability to be used even when a perfect match is not available. This makes cord blood more accessible for patients who need treatment.
How The Process Works
The hospital or OB-GYN shares educational information with expectant mothers.
The mother or family contacts Regen Cell Solutions/Cord for Life with questions or to enroll, and bedside enrollment may also be available with hospital staff help.
A collection kit is provided when labor begins, or mailed by Cord for Life/Regen Cell Solution if enrollment is completed directly with them.
After delivery, the hospital team collects the cord blood using the collection kit and instructions provided.
The family notifies Cord for Life within two hours of the baby’s arrival.
Cord for Life helps with packaging and directs the family to the closest FedEx shipping center.
Cord for Life then processes and stores the stem cells upon receipt.

Important Notice
Our partner providers ethically sourced, minamally manipulated, Cord Blood Stem Cells have completed the phase 1 of a clinical trial for lower back pain treatment. This marks the first time umbilical cord blood stem cells have been evaluated for a treatment not related to transplantation and regeneration of the recipient’s bone marrow to generate new blood cells. This early success could lead to numerous other trials for a wide range of treatments that could have a significant effect on the quality of life for tens of millions of patients worldwide.
